ᐅᐦᒋ OHCI ABOUT
ᓃᐸᐧᐃᐤ ᐧᐋᐸᔅᑯ - Neibow Wabusk - Rising Polar Bear
Wâciye, Welcome.
I’ve spent my life learning to be curious about people — truly seeing them.
From every angle: across cultures, experiences, worldviews, and spirit.
There’s value woven into each of us.
But life? Life often tries to wear that value down.
That’s why Rising Bear Consulting and Psychotherapy exists.
To honour the fierce beauty in people.
To empower their voice.
To walk with them as they rise.
⸻
🐾 Why Wabusk?
Wabusk — or Wapusk — is Môsoni-Illilîwin/Moose Cree for Polar Bear.
Wabusk carries many teachings. One that was shared with me speaks of how Wabusk didn’t begin white, but black. You can still see this — beneath the fur, the skin remembers.
As Wabusk moved north, they adapted — not just in colour, but in spirit.
They are a bridge between the old and the new.
They wait, learn, observe, and act.
They are fierce protectors of kin.
Wise in surviving, even thriving, in harsh conditions.
Strong. Courageous. Grounded. Watchful.
⸻
🐾 Wabusk Rises
There are two moments to watch for.
First, Wabusk begins to rise — sensing the wind, the ice, the air.
They lean in. They listen. This is Neibow — the moment of quiet readiness.
Second, Wabusk stands on two legs. Some say, in silhouette, they almost look human.
Now, they are no longer observing — they are engaged, curious, present.
At 800 to 1,400 lbs and 10 feet tall, Wabusk is not only powerful, but intentional.
They may return to rest — or they may act. With purpose.
⸻
🐾 Power of Wabusk
Living as Neibow Wabusk, I bring that same strength and power to the healing journey.
Not aggression. But ispihcîw — a Cree word for strength and power.
Like the power to protect kin as they grow:
Focused. Life-giving. Illuminating.
This is the safe space I offer:
• A space to slow down and listen for what’s rising.
• A space to explore your struggle and your story.
• A space to rediscover the strength, clarity, and peace already within you.
⸻
🐾 So…
Together, this is what I carry:
Neibow Wabusk — Rising Polar Bear.
This is who I am.
And I look forward to rising beside you on your path.
My name is Campbell Page (he/him), also known by my Cree name: Neibow Wabusk — Rising Polar Bear. I am a
Registered Psychotherapist, and a Reconciliation Specialist, with ancestral roots in Moose Cree First Nation and a registered member of the Red River Métis Nation.
My practice draws from ancestral wisdom and the teachings of the medicine wheel, honouring the sacred balance of spirit, emotion, body, and mind. Interwoven with these teachings is the practice of psychotherapy… I walk alongside Indigenous and non-Indigenous clients alike, guided by deep respect for the cultural, personal, and spiritual journeys that shape who we are.
